A Ministry of Kessler Park United Methodist Church

Sunday School Class
Jay Elliot and Catherine Dodge shared their experiences at the Emerging Christianity conference, beginning with an explaination of the Emerging Christian Movement.

Read a full article on the Emerging Church Movement HERE.

Both Jay and Catherine are interested in the re-discovery of ancient Christian practices, which is one aspect of this movement.  This includes a return to ancient liturgies, meditation, fasting, rites and rituals such as the use of incense, bells, altars, prayer beads, and Stations of the Cross.

We ran out of time, so next week Iain Burchell (Social Justice) and Kate Naumes (Historical Jesus) will share about the sessions they attended at the conference.
