To those of you who participated in our Spring Break Food Drive last week, THANK YOU!
To those of you who will be going with your D-Groups to pick up and deliver food from the Sonic locations to local food pantries, THANK YOU!
 
We’ve been privileged to see first hand what it means to be a Kingdom worker!  You may have heard the story already, but we want to tell you again.
 
On Tuesday morning of Spring Break week, just after our students left to deliver 2500 bags on the doorsteps of homes in Webb City, Oronogo & Carl Junction, Chad received a phone call from a man who is directly connected to all 7 Sonic locations in the Joplin area.  He was sitting in church Sunday morning during the 8:30 service and listened to Chad inform our congregation about the food drive our students would be doing during Spring Break to help fill some area food pantries.
 
Because they had organized a food drive at Christmas time, they knew they could easily do it again.  He put us in contact with the girl who helped organize it last time and within a few days, flyers were posted at all 7 Sonic locations.  Anyone who brings in a non perishable food item through April 22 will receive at free medium drink!  When we talk about loving Jesus where you are, and using the resources in front of you for Kingdom impact, this is it!  We truly have no idea the countless ways this can make a difference in our community!
 
We’ve already delivered 400 bags to 5 different pantries and can hardly wait to deliver more over the next few weeks!   This couldn’t come at a better time for many food pantries, as much of the donations given at Christmas time are beginning to run out.
 
If your D-Group would like to participate in picking up food items from the Sonic locations and delivering them to these local food pantries, on a Sunday afternoon/evening, talk to your leader and have them contact Sara Hill to secure a time.
