Chamber Happenings

Missouri Whitewater Association Championship Race is scheduled for this weekend - 3/19 & 20 this year at Millstream Gardens. Boy Scout Troop 27 will have their regular treats for sale and the Madison County Chamber of Commerce will have coffee, hot chocolate and sweets. You’ll want to make plans to stop by for the races. It’s an exciting annual event that draws folks from a wide area to enjoy the natural resources available in Madison County - right here in our own back yard! I also want to thank, in advance, the many volunteers that have agreed to help at the chamber concession tent over the weekend.

Our first Welcome to Madison County Visitor’s Guide will be distributed this weekend to the kayakers and visitors to Millstream Gardens to watch the races. If you missed out on this issue, don’t worry - we plan to do at least two more this year. The next one should be ready prior to Azalea Festival weekend. Remember: this is only available for current Chamber Members, so if you haven’t already renewed or joined, contact the chamber office or check out the information on our website soon!

THANK YOU to our five corporate sponsors Chamber Members: Wal-Mart of Fredericktown, Pense Brothers Drilling Company and Ozarks Federal Savings & Loan. Missouri Whitewater Association Sponsors: Debra Sartori, Realtor ® Coldwell Banker Gundaker and the Alpine Shop of St. Louis. A special thanks to the following Chamber Members that contributed time and effort behind the scenes to work with the Chamber and the Missouri Whitewater Association to make the 2011 races and banquet memorable events: Twisting V. Grille at Vance Vineyards, IBS Print & Promo and MacProductive.

Our 2nd Annual Home & Business Expo is scheduled for Saturday, April 30th from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. at the Fredericktown High School gymnasium and parking lot. Make your plans now to be here to showcase your business or organization. One of the many benefits of being a member of the Madison County Chamber of Commerce includes a 50% discount on the cost of a booth space - inside or outside - at this event. The cost for a 10x10 inside booth space is $100 (or $50 for chamber members). Outside booth space will be $1.00/sq foot or ($0.50/sq foot for chamber members.) Contact the chamber office at your earliest convenience for more details and to reserve your spot. Space will be available on a first come, first served basis.

Although chamber membership is open all year, we are at the point that any 2010 members that have not renewed have been removed from our website and are not eligible for chamber benefits until they have renewed for 2011. If you have already paid, please allow us time to get your business or organization name back on the website.
