Job Hunting
I'm quick to advise clients that any project needs regular reassessment. I've applied that approach to my own consulting business, and have concluded that in 2012 I will return to full-time employment. I'll bring to that employer more than 20 years of experience in communications and strategic thinking.
The question is this: Who is that employer?
Because of my decision to seek full-time employment again, I am now informing prospective clients that I am unable to agree to a monthly retainer contract. But I am still open to working with you during this transition.
I would also greatly appreciate you thinking of me when you hear of employment possibilities, and spreading the word of my search.
"Patrick is a fabulous writer and editor. I have always been astonished how quickly he could put together a great article. He is insightful, intelligent, and above all, a great communicator." -- Keith Kupferschmid, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, SIIA

Experience
I've been working in D.C. policy circles for more than 20 years. When I came to Washington, George H.W. Bush was President and Barack Obama was a law student.
I've engaged in policy as a Hill staffer, reporter, think tank fellow, PR professional and non-profit executive director. Allow me to bring critical thinking on policy issues to your organization.

Breadth
Some know me as the IP guy, and I write about intellectual property policy for Managing IP Magazine. But others know me as the telecom guy, or the cybersecurity guy, or the privacy guy.
Like any seasoned reporter, I'm a fast study with a wide-ranging curiosity. Health? Finance? Environment? I'm eager to bring a fundamental understanding of communications to any subject.
