About TNR

Cat Rescue Christchurch advocates the trap-neuter-return (TNR) method of caring for, and reducing the population of stray cats.

Success Stories

Alfie was one of a litter of five kittens who were the very first kittens rescued by Cat Rescue Christchurch back in 2006! He's currently living with Donna, and obviously having a great time!

Volunteer:
Trapping Co-Ordinator

We're currently looking for a keen, organised volunteer who can coordinate the trapping jobs and cat transport with our volunteers, with members of the public who borrow our traps, and with the vets where we have the cats desexed.

Are you up for the job?

Past Events

Vegetarian Expo

The Cat Rescue stall at the recent Vegetarian Expo was a great success.

An impressive $933 was raised from selling vegan baking, raffle tickets, chocolate and in donations.

It's also a great place for Cat Rescue to promote our organisation and encourage people to get involved. Thank you to everyone who baked, did a shift on the stall and to those who supported us on the day by buying something!

November Newsletter

Welcome to Cat Rescue Christchurch's monthly newsletter!

Giving thanks...First of all, we'd like to say a big thanks to those that responded so positively to our previous newsletter. We've had a great response to our new sponsor a cat. This money goes to helping out some of our long-term foster friends whilst they're still looking for their forever homes.

Wishlist...We're currently preparing ourselves for the upcoming surge of kittens, and have a great need for a few VERY important items. One being kitty litter. We go through a huge amount, especially during kitten season, so we're asking for donations. All types are welcome but we especially prefer pellet fuel (wood pellets) that can be bought cheaply from Mitre 10 for $7.50 per bag.

Donate...Cat Rescue Christchurch are seeking donations of any amount to help cover Ginger Teddy's $800 ear surgery vet bill. Can you help us? Read more here.

Adopt Trixy
For Adoption...We currently have a couple of absolutely lovely adult cats looking for their forever homes. Are you able to offer a special home to Trixy or Big Teddy?

Articles...Cat Rescue Christchurch advocates the Trap Neuter Return (TNR) method. If you'd like to know more about this method, here are a couple of great articles:
Until next month!
