Quincy Tahoma is better known for action-packed hunting scenes, but he had his quieter moments.  Charnell wrote Signs of the Season, about paintings of baby animals and humans that evoke Spring.

This photo of a Navajo woman watching her sheep at Canyon de Chelly, goes with a post about the importance of sheep and Navajo comfort food. Here's the recipe for mutton stew:
  • 2 lb. lean lamb or mutton
  • 6 potatoes
  • 1 bunch of carrots
  • 1 cup celery sliced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

(See this website for instructions on making the stew)
