Have you gone Epicuring lately? Here's our hand-picked guide for pre-Fall!

September Means Epicuring for Good!

elixirs There's no slow down of Slow Food-ish events and fundraisers in September...with way too many on the 18th.

The Chez Panisse 40th anniversary activities may be over (save for Edible Education 101) but our buzz lives strong. We chronicled the fun in our blog, along with a rollicking video of an interactive elixir bar at the Berkeley Art Museum--something we'd like to offer for adventurous party events. (Know of any?)

Be sure to subscribe to our Calendar and follow us on Twitter and Facebook to hear about ticket giveaways and our own Epicuring adventures!

Let's go Epicuring!

Susie & Laiko
Co-Epicurators,
Epicuring California

Please send this on to your food-curious friends, as an honorary Epicurator. Thank you!

The Epicuring 5: Our Pre-Fall Picks

5) Join Laiko and Susie at the Sept 18th Bale Grist Mill / Slow Food Fundraiser Dinner in St. Helena:
It's a "how things work" / history / good food fan's dream: Dinner outside at a historic monument -- a working, restored grist mill that is threatened by park closures. You can buy freshly milled grains on the sly ("not for human consumption"). RSVP on our Facebook event (optional) and get your tickets for this September 18th fundraiser dinner.

4) Sept 18th: Slow Food Pig Roast in Berkeley
Have a Type A Saturday, first enjoying this roast in Tilden Park--which also ties into the $5 Meal initiative. (Some pics of the maximum porkage.) Then join us in St. Helena at the Grist Mill. Susie will profile you as an Extreme Epicurator if you actually accomplish this feast...oops feat!

3) Sept 11th: Tomato U-pick at Mariquita Farm with Slow Food
You pick tomaytoes. We eat tomahtoes. If you go to this seasonal Slow Food u-pick event and need folks to enjoy your tomatoes, let's throw an Epicuring feast!

2) Sept 18: Pie Ranch Farm-to-Table Dinner Benefit ($200)
Pre-Fall on the Coast along with a rustic dinner to help this non-profit farm? Sounds pretty good to us.

1) Sept 17: Just for You Retrenching Coffee Addicts
Join this $30 Home Coffee Roasting workshop with the Institute of Urban Homesteading. Embrace DIY caffeine. Who could ask for anything more?

OK just one more! For you non-recovering cider-holics, Love Apple Farm brings you Hard Cider making on the 18th.
We just spent the weekend Epicuring in the Dry Creek appellation (Healdsburg and Geyserville) and we'll post a new story on our blog this week with our top picks!
