BESTSELLING AUTHORS DEEPAK CHOPRA AND LEONARD MLODINOW RELEASE LANDMARK DEBATE MODERATED BY LARRY KING ON YOUTUBE

Bestselling authors Deepak Chopra and Leonard Mlodinow announce today the release of a landmark debate about the conflict between science and spirituality moderated by one of the world's most famous journalists, Larry King.

The debate will be released on Deepak Chopra's YouTube channel in four parts over the course of four days, available starting Tuesday, October 18th at 7pm EST. There will be a live chat following the final episode. Deepak Chopra's YouTube channel is available at: Deepak Chopra Global YouTube as well as at his website DeepakChopra.com

Two of the world's foremost authorities on spirituality and science, Deepak Chopra and Leonard Mlodinow face off on some of the most fundamental questions that have intrigued humanity for hundreds of years, including how the universe began, where life comes from, and whether or not Darwinism fully explains evolution. Their YouTube debate series was inspired by their collaboration on War of the Worldviews: Science vs. Spirituality, a new book published by Harmony Books on October 4, 2011.

In the YouTube debate with Larry King, Mlodinow defends his controversial position that science does not -- and cannot -- conclude that God is an illusion. And Chopra explains that his definition of spirituality is separate from organized religion. Both agree that a literal view of the bible is an outmoded way of thinking. "This will go down as one of the more important books of this decade" said Larry King of War of the Worldviews.

"We are thrilled that Larry King, one of the legendary broadcasters of all time, has joined Leonard Mlodinow and me for a YouTube event that epitomizes the exciting new ways that authors and thinkers can connect with and engage with audiences around the world."

The author of over sixty books and nineteen New York Times bestsellers, Deepak Chopra has been widely recognized for his innovative use of social and digital media to share his message. He has nearly 650,000 followers on Twitter (@DeepakChopra) and fifty thousand friends on Facebook. He writes over 200 blogs a year for outlets such as Huffington Post, SFgate.com, The Washington Post's On Faith site, Intentblog.com, and Beliefnet.com, among others. His own radio and podcast channel, Deepak Chopra Radio on Blogtalk Radio, will debut soon.

"I can't get my message out without adapting to the new landscape," said Chopra, who tweets every day. "As a group, we writers won't survive until we figure out how to place books in the global conversation, and YouTube represents one great way to accomplish this."

Leonard Mlodinow received his PhD in theoretical physics from the University of California at Berkeley and currently teaches at Caltech. His books include Feynman's Rainbow, Euclid's Window, and The Drunkard's Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives, which was a New York Times Bestseller, Editor's Choice, and 2008 Notable Book of the Year. Mlodinow is the writing collaborator of Stephen Hawking and co-author of the recently published The Grand Design, a book that argues that invoking God is not necessary to explain the origins of the universe.

Deepak Chopra, MD, FACP books have been translated into more than eighty languages. Dr. Chopra is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Adjunct Professor of Executive Programs at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and Senior Scientist with The Gallup Organization. TIME magazine has described Deepak Chopra as one of the top 100 heroes and icons of the century and credits him as "the poet-prophet of alternative medicine." He also has a multi-media speaker series HomeBase, a physical and a virtual salon he created with ABC Carpet & Home CEO Paulette Cole. His new reality TV show "Dinner with Deepak" will air on the SciFi Channel.

Vintage Essays By Judy Williamson, Director of the Napoleon Hill World Learning Center at Purdue University Calumnet

Dear Readers,

By deciding to become a non-drifter you not only make life easier for yourself but for others. If you have to constantly be reminded about your obligations, your appointments, and your daily tasks, aren't you abdicating the life you were given? Strength of character involves personal initiative, discipline, and persistence. Each of these characteristics gives us an increasingly stronger foothold on life. By creating our own habits of thought and sticking to them we tell our ego who really is in charge.

Positive actions that are repeated daily contribute to our character makeup. People know us by our deeds not our talk. While it's true that what you think about you bring about, the missing step in the sequence is action. W. Clement Stone knew this for a fact and his command "Do it now!" is what put him over the top. By doing it now, we enforce our determination to succeed because we tell our "critic" that we refuse to be deterred by the fear of criticism. The simple phrase "Do it now!" jumpstarts our success because of the action it causes us to take. Movement is the necessary key. Without it, there would be no foundation underneath our dreams.

So, decide today to do what it is you need to do and then begin the process as Dr. Hill states, "whether you are ready or not." The psychology behind beginning now is a great motivator since it conditions us for future actions. Begin to put one foot literally in front of the next as you begin your success journey. You already have an idea of what actions need to be taken, so begin today to do the things that a non-drifter does. These will accumulate in short order and soon you will be in the higher brackets of those who do not drift.

Be Your Very Best Always,
Judy Williamson

The Law of Success

Habits of Thought
By Napoleon Hill

The drifter makes no attempt to discipline or control his thoughts, and he never learns the difference between positive thinking and negative thinking. He allows his mind to drift with any stray thought which may float into it. People who drift in connection with their thought habits are sure to drift on other subjects as well.

In an allegorical account of an interview with the devil it was stated that the devil said he feared nothing except that the world might sometime produce a thinker who would use his own mind, adding significantly that he controlled all drifters who neglected to use their own minds. The devil is not the only individual who exploits the drifter. And the drifter is the victim not only of all those who wish to exploit him, but he is also the victim of all the stray, negative thoughts which park themselves in his mind.

The non-drifter takes full possession of his own mind through self-discipline, and organizes definite plans and purposes. He directs his mind to whatever ends he desires, and he keeps his mind occupied with the things he wants and off the things he does not want.

A positive mental attitude is the first and the most important of the twelve riches of life, and it cannot be attained by the drifter. It can be attained only by a scrupulous regard for time, through habits of self-discipline. No amount of time devoted to one's occupation can compensate for the benefits of a positive mental attitude, for this is the power which makes the use of time effective and productive.

A positive mental attitude does not grow voluntarily, like the weeds of the fields. It requires cultivation, through carefully disciplined habits of thoughts. And the greatest of all training grounds for the cultivation of a positive mental attitude is provided by one's chosen occupation, where he spends the greatest part of his life. Here you may combine your efforts to make them financially productive and to develop a positive mental attitude.

When you get your own thought habits under control, you will have yourself under control, but you cannot do it by drifting. Organize your thoughts. Decide what you want, to what position in life you aspire. Then plan ways and means to express your thoughts, in terms of organized action. Follow through with applied faith and unremitting persistence. This is the means by which you can become the master of your fate, the captain of your soul.

Waste no time worrying about what others may think. The important thing is what you think and do.

Life is Precious...Be a "Do-er" to the End

By: Amy Atcha

Amy Atcha

Life is precious. Taking care of those you love, including yourself, should be a rewarding and satisfying experience. While these words may sound like common sense, we often find reasons to delay or excuse ourselves from doing so. Sadly, it can take a serious event for us to realize the inherent value. This is what happened to me.

One day he was fine; the next, he was in a coma. During the following six years, my brother lived in a state of dementia, confusion and disorientation. Watching him change from a thriving self-sufficient adult to a confused, incoherent and completely dependent child seemingly overnight, I learned the hard way that living a competent life is a gift.

As his Legal Guardian, I also learned that picking up the pieces of someone else's life is a VERY BIG challenge. Where did he keep his important papers? Where did he want to live now that he could no longer make the decision on his own? Who would care for him?

What if something happened to you and someone had to "step into your shoes", whether for a month, a year or for the rest of your life? What if you couldn't care for yourself? Worse yet, what if this happened and you weren't prepared?

And what about those tough decisions - the final decisions of your life? Who will be there to take care of you? Does that person know what you want? Does that person know what your beliefs and wishes are?

An illness, or worse, is a challenging time, draining the emotional and physical strength from both the afflicted and their loved ones. For most of us, we think we will either be alive or dead, but rarely do we contemplate another alternative.

Needless to say, I persevered through my brother's ordeal with the help and support of family, friends and advisors. But it made me realize....it all could have been much easier if only my brother had been organized and prepared for these unpleasant times. In truth, we will all be in this, or a similar situation, one day. That's life, but how many of us are prepared?

For many, we have a defined routine to our daily lives. We know that we must wake up at a specific time, go to work, take care of the family and ourselves. Most of us are cognizant of the benefits to eating healthy, exercising, relaxing and spending time with others. Yet, we don't always do these things to the level that we should or as often as we should.

But to what extent are we prepared for the "out of the ordinary" situations? Isn't it incumbent upon us, as "doers," as opposed to "drifters," to plan for the unexpected? Should we not make planning for our future part of our "life plan," both the good and the bad times?

Outwitting the Devil by Napoleon Hill Napoleon Hill's Road To Success Empowered Millionaire The Little Book of Leadership

Outwitting the Devil

By: Napoleon Hill

Napoleon Hill wrote this book in 1938, just after publication of his all-time bestseller, Think and Grow Rich. This powerful tale has never been published, considered too controversial by his family and friends.

Using his legendary ability to get to the root of human potential, Napoleon Hill digs deep to identify the greatest obstacles we face in reaching personal goals: fear, procrastination, anger, and jealousy, as tools of the Devil. These hidden methods of control can lead us to ruin, and Hill reveals the seven principles of good that will allow us to triumph over them and succeed. Annotated and edited for a contemporary audience by Rich Dad, Poor Dad and Three Feet from Gold co-author Sharon Lechter, this book is profound, powerful, resonant, and rich with insight.

Hill wrote a series of fifteen articles he titled Billboards on the Road to Success. The articles in Napoleon Hill's Road to Success are exactly as Hill typed them on his old manual typewriter. The articles written more than ninety years ago are as relevant today as when Hill penned them.

During this twenty year period Hill was writing, speaking, teaching classes on the principles, and publishing his own magazine. Hill published Napoleon Hill's Magazine and Napoleon Hill's Golden Rule Magazine. Articles from these magazines compose the book you are holding and give valuable insight to some of Hill's earliest writings, whether you are a reader of Hill's famous works or this is your first time of reading Hill's writings, you will gain valuable insight that will help you in life.
