New Print: Pyramid
Pyramid (left) is the latest in my series about money. The pyramid image, seen on the back of the US dollar bill, is said to indicate that God / Providence, favors and watches over the American enterprise. The figure standing on the pyramid comes from an 1880 etching of a group of African American migrant workers in a cotton field, their labors watched over with care by a white man. The print measures 38.5" x 25" (98 x 63.5 cm). For a larger view and more info, click on the photo to go to my blog.

Current & Upcoming Shows
MANCHESTER, NH, 1/26-2/23
Several of my prints from the new series Loaded will be shown at the French Building Gallery at New Hampshire Institute of Art, January 26 - February 23, 2012. I hope you can join me at the opening reception on February 1 from 5:00 - 6:30. The reception will be followed by a curator talk by Liz Chalfin of Zea Mays Printmaking from 6:30 - 7:30. Liz visited the studios of each of the participating artists to glean more insight into their practices and their thinking.
PORTLAND, ME, 3/1-3/31
This large group exhibition, called Print/Counter-print, will be a printmaking extravaganza. The works were selected from the flatfiles of three different facilities: Zea Mays Printmaking (Florence MA), Peregrine Press (Portland, ME), and Maine College of Art (Portland, ME). The show will be held at the Rose Contemporary Gallery in Portland during the month of March, with an artist's reception Friday, March 2, 5-8pm.
