Just Enterprise support now open to Enterprising applicants

HISEZ are delighted to announce that the new support for Social Enterprises 'Just Enterprise' has been launched. HISEZ is the delivery partner for business support for emerging and established Social Enterprises across the Highlands and Islands. If you were in touch with us over the last few months about support then this is the new process which is applicable to you.

What is Just Enterprise? Just Enterprise is a new consortium bringing together Scotland's key social enterprise support agencies to provide business support and development services to Social Enterprise organisations across Scotland. This is part of the contract with Scottish Government. In doing so, the focus of the consortium is to ensure the third sector can grow to be sustainable in the challenging economic conditions expected in coming years.

Who is eligible? Just Enterprise business support is available for social entrepreneurs and Enterprising Third Sector Organisations. A range of support from; a telephone advisory service, one to one development support, business consultancy and workshops, learning programmes and leadership courses are available.

How to apply

  1. Head to www.justenterprise.org

  2. If you are a new social enterprise or have a new idea select the Start Up folder

          If you are already established as a Social Enterprise select the Business Support folder

Additional assistance is available to Social Enterprises through other consortium partners such as Social Enterprise Academy and CEIS which include Procurement as well as Learning & Development. Information on these services are available online.

Growth Fund available to Social Enterprises

The Scottish Government Enterprise Growth Fund is managed and administered by the Wise Group, with consortium partners CEiS, DSL and the Social Value Lab. The fund will work together with Just Enterprise business support and learning services, and future Third Sector support the government is putting in place, to strengthen the Third Sector in Scotland – making it more sustainable, capable and enterprising.

Scottish Green Awards

The Scottish Green Awards are open for nominations in nine categories ranging from Best Green Community Initiative to Best Green School. The deadline for nominating has been extended until 5th August.

Franchising Good Business

In conjunction with RBS and franchising experts AMO Consulting, Firstport is hosting a one day practical workshop that will help you better understand:

SURF AWARDS 2011 FOR BEST PRACTICE IN COMMUNITY REGENERATION
Last year Social Enterprises in the Highlands and Islands did very well at the SURF awards. Nominations are now invited any community project in Scotland which is currently active or has been completed within the last two years in one of four categories:
  • People
  • Place
  • Partnership
  • Employability for All
