Always On My Mind: Convention 2011
Alpha Xi Delta's 49th convention was held in Atlanta, GA from July 6-10. I was honored to represent the CNWSAA at this event. Sisters from all over the country came together to celebrate Alpha Xi Delta.
The CNWSAA was awarded the Ruth Simmons James Award with High Honors for our philanthropic efforts and association support of collegiate chapters. We also received two Philanthropy awards - the Heart of Gold Award, 2nd place for average volunteer hours per member in support of Autism Speaks and the Golden Megaphone Award, 1st place for highest average dollars raised per member for Autism Speaks!
I met representatives from 2 of our 'adopted chapters' as well as from many other chapters across the United States. About half of the midwest alumnae associations also had someone present & we did a little meet & greet of our own. I sat in on the DePaul University colonization meeting too. If you have interest in volunteering to help, let me know & I will pass on your contact information.
Sisters also learned how technology can advance the sisterhood. We learned about using Twitter and Facebook to our advantage, as well as how to take advantage of great free services out there (Such as MailChimp, where I am creating this newsletter!)
The Fraternity's 50th Convention will be in San Francisco at the Hilton on Union Square. It will be June 28- July 4, 2013, with a fireworks viewing party from the rooftop ballroom on July 4th! It is sure to be an AmaXIng time!

Do You Know MAX?
MAX stands for Marketing Alpha Xi Delta. It is how we get our name out there each and every day. Our collegiate chapters have been MAXing for almost 2 years. At Convention we learned how the Alumnae can MAX too! Here are some ideas: putting an Autism Speaks/ Alpha Xi Delta magnet on your car, wearing letter shirts out and about, using an AXD coffee mug, wearing your Quill, filling out a Recommendation form, registering your Rose Petal (legacy- daughter, niece etc.), talking with pride about being an Alpha Xi Delta!

Did you know only 2% of Alpha Xi Delta Alumnae are actively involved in the fraternity? It's sad to me that so many are missing out on our sisterhood that really is for a lifetime! Share this email with a sister. Encourage her to update her information with Fraternity Headquarters. Ask about ways you can support our collegiate chapters. Join an alumnae association.
