When Joan Bakewell chose Where or When as her desert island disc I was really inspired by Peggy Lee more . . . That collection, made a while ago, all sold as soon as I made it. When Amy Winehouse died I looked to her songs and found this one which has again inspired me to make work in really strong colours more . . .

Ancestry
One of my ancesters, William Peckitt, made stained glass windows in York Minster amongst other churches in the 18th century. His gift for working in bright colours inspired me years ago to become an artist.
Who do I think I am? Well, I try to follow his lead and make my life as bright as possible more . . . I have now made two collections based on this theme. |
