10th Year Celebrations
Only 8 weeks until our 10th Year Celebrations begin! We have a fantastic two days of celebrations planned and look forward to many ex board members, staff and students attending. Tickets for our evening event go on sale Tuesday 25 October.
We are now collecting Willowbank School memorabilia - do you know an ex Willowbank student or family? We are looking for signed shirts (year 6 children usually get their shirts signed on their last day), photos or stories about the school that we can display. We are collecting memorabilia at the office from this week. Please ensure it is well labelled with name, years of attending Willowbank and a phone number that we are able to contact you on. All memorabilia will be returned to their respective owners after the celebrations. For further information on this  please see our facebook page. Thank you in anticipation.
We are also looking for people who would like to run food stalls on Saturday 19 November. The school is charging $25 per table, any other profits would go to the stall holder. This is a great fundraiser for groups that you or your children may belong to. For further information on this pleasecontact Chris on 2711077 ex 205.

10th Year Celebrations Competitions
How are children going with their home learning competition to be judged at our 10th year celebration?  Have they grown a plant, vegetable or some fruit?  Have they thought about an arid garden, mini garden or novelty pot?  Is your child going to create a sand saucer to enter into the competition?
Remember there are prizes for the most imaginative, for being creative and caring and for plants that have been grown and cared for.

School Cross Country
Our children competed in the school cross-country yesterday. They have been training most of this term for this event and the improved fitness levels was very evident today. Congratulations to Mrs Carmel Grace and her team for the organisation of the day.  Congratulations to all participants and in particular to our year level winners!

Damaged books
We have had a number of books being returned to school damaged lately.  Please may we ask you to ensure your child treats books with respect and if any books are damaged that you let us know.  It is important that your child is using their book bag to transport books between home and school.  We are fortunate to have fantastic learning resources at Willowbank and we appreciate your support in looking after these.

Gymnastics

Last Thursday three students represented Willowbank School at the Champion of Champions Gymnastics competition. They qualified for this event with their performance at the Howick and Pakuranga gymnastics competition two weeks ago. The level of competition at this event was outstanding and all three of our students completed their routines with precision. Chelise Brooks finished 13th in the Year 4 girls competition (even with a broken arm!), in the Year 6 Boys Boaz Varcoe finished 9th and Keegan Bezuidenhout 3rd.  Congratulations to our representations and to the team coaches, Mrs Carmel Grace and Ms Claire Greenwood.
